Do you have a little kitchen helper? My daughter loves to help out in the kitchen. She says that she wants to be a chef when she grows up so last year we bought her kid kitchen tools and she loves them!
My daughter loves to help with cutting veggies, mixing, and baking. It’s so much fun watching her get excited about cooking. I’ve also found that when my daughter helps in the kitchen she’s more likely to eat a wider variety of foods. So I’ve put together a list of 8 tools your kids need to be confident in the kitchen!

8 Tools Your Kids Need To Be Confident In The Kitchen
Have you heard of the Curious Chef brand? It’s a line of cooking tools that are specifically geared towards children. This is NOT a sponsored post for this brand, we just really love curious chef and the tools they provide to help my daughter become more confident in the kitchen. 🙂
Here are our favorite tools for our kitchen helper:
Kid Knives
We love the curious chef brand. They are good quality and have held up great. These knives work well to teach your kid knife skills and actually cut foods but are safe for little fingers. This set comes with three different sizes and is dishwasher safe.
Curious Chef Measure and Prep Kit
My daughter loves that she has her own measure cups and spoons. This set comes with 17 pieces; measuring cups and spoons, a large poly spoon, a timer, 3 piece prep bowl set, a shopping list, and stickers. The timer is probably her favorite part of this kit. She loves using it for everything that we cook.
Curious Chef 6 Piece Cookie Kit
What kid doesn’t love baking cookies? What I love about this set is that its baking items that are her size. It comes with cookie cutters, a whisk, a rolling pin, silicone spoon, cookie turner, a shopping list, and stickers. We’ve used these numerous times and she loves being able to make her cookies using tools that are the right size for her.
Chef Accessory Kit
My parents bought my daughter a chef set for Christmas last year because of course, a chef needs an apron, a chef’s hat, and oven mitts. She uses her oven mitts every time she bakes. It was a little scary having her pull things out of the oven at first but now she’s a pro. She is very careful so we let her take anything out that it isn’t too heavy.
What we are buying her for Christmas this year:
Curious Chef Cupcake and Decorating Kit
I’m excited for her to use this kit. She loves decorating cupcakes. I like that this kit comes with silicone cupcake liners, frosting spreader, and spoons. I predict that the frosting decorator and tips will be her favorite part. It looks so fun!
Cooking with Curious Chef Cookbook
My daughter has been checking out kid cookbooks from the library this year so we thought we’d get her this cookbook. What I like about this cookbook is that it has nutrition tips and food facts along with recipes. The recipes have easy to read steps and pictures. I’m looking forward to trying out recipes with her!
Fruit and Veggies Pealer
Another staple that young chefs need. I like that it has an ergonomic handle and soft-touch button grips.
Nylon Pizza Cutter
We make homemade pizza just about every week. She’s a little scared to use our pizza cutter so we’re getting her a kid one to help build her confidence and help her be a little more independent.
