Do you have a little artist? Or maybe you’re just starting to introduce your kids to art? Well, I’ve put together a list of the best art supplies for your little artist! Most kids love to create things and art is such a wonderful way to express creativity.
The Best Art Supplies For Your Little Artist
Every time I set up art supplies for my kids, they love it! I explain how to use the supplies, the rules (like don’t paint my wall…. ;)) and we go over different ways you can use them. I love all the creations they come up with!
In addition to crayons, markers, paper and all of your basic art supplies, we love:
These are seriously so cool! They are solid tempera paint sticks. They dry really fast and there is no mess. Truly a win-win for parents!
I love this paper. I roll it out on our hardwood floor and put down crayons, colored pencils or markers and let them create. A few months ago I taped it up on the wall and told them to only color the paper using their toes. They had so much fun and giggled the entire time.
Another no-mess art supply! These are washable and really great for little hands. They are non-toxic, gluten and latex-free!
This paper is great for watercolors. We use this with our paint cakes and it doesn’t bleed through. I like to frame their artwork and this paper works great for that!
These are by far my favorite paints. They work just like watercolors. They are so well made and durable. We’ve had our tray for a few years and they work great. My kids have literally thrown the paint cakes and they are still intact. They mix colors and then I rinse them off and they are as good as new.
Must have for your paint. Spill-proof paint cups keep your paint fresh for the next art session and cuts down on the mess.
We love oil pastels. Such a fun medium for kids. You do need to supervise as these are oil based and not washable. We like to use our watercolor paper and draw pictures with the oil pastels and then paint it in with the paint cakes!
These fun fluorescent markers are a hit with my kids. They are non-toxic and last long. You can use them on chalkboards, dry erase boards, windows, etc. They wipe off easily with a wet cloth!
Perfect organizer for your art supplies!
This clay is soft and pliable and won’t dry out when exposed to air. Create a masterpiece and bake it. After baking, you can paint it and glaze it. Such a fun way for kids to explore their creativity!
